News 06-26-08 It's summer, so we've decided to have a picnic. Saturday July 19th at Pat's in the Flats it'll be a Punk Rock Picnic, to be exact. Joining us for the festivities will be Struttin' Cocks, The GT-40s, The Rub-Offs, and Colostomy Pinata. This is an early show starting at 5pm and will be over before 11pm and, weather permitting, will take place on the outside patio. There will also be food vendors and of course booze. Admission is a mere five bucks. 21 and over only. Unfortunately it looks like we'll be a four piece for this show, since Tommy Roulette found out the hard way that concrete is stronger than bone. But he'll still be at the show since a broken arm won't stop him from singing for his other band, The Rub-Offs. In other news, despite the ridiculously high gas prices Horror of '59 will be playing a handful of out of state shows this summer and early fall. On Saturday August 30th we return to Fort Wayne, Indiana for a show with our pals Grave Robber. Also on the bill: Dead and Disorderly and B Movie Monsters. $5 admission. 21 and over. Then on Friday September 6th we'll be at Mac's in Lansing, MI to do a show with ragers Superhchrist. And on Saturday September 27th we'll be at Mohawk Place in Buffalo, NY with The Rabies. More info on these two soon. That's it for now, but expect some big news around Halloween. 05-01-08 Sorry it's been a while since we updated the site. So here's what's been going on and what's coming up. First of all, we want to give a huge Horror of '59 thank you to Dennis A. Bell from Lords of the Highway. Dennis filled in for Tommy Horror when we played Jump in the Sac on March 15th. Here's some pictures documenting the historic occasion. And I guess we never put any pics up from Jimmie Dale Killmore's first show with us back on January 5th, so check those out here. We've got some more reviews and interviews on the Dissections page. If you want to know what people are saying about 'The Golden Age of Sin' and the band in general, check it out. We're taking May off from gigs to work on some new songs (including some covers), but we've got a lot of cool shows in the works for this summer and fall, including a few trips out of Ohio. Be sure to check the Live Terror page or our Myspace page to keep up to date. First up is a great show at the Beachladn Tavern with Buffalo's Blowtops and Cleveland's own Scarlet Fever. DJs Scary Ellen, Michigan Mom, and Sade Wolfkitten will be spinning tunes between the bands. It's an all-ages show and admission is a mere six bucks, so don't miss it.
Then on July 19th we're going to be doing a special early outdoor show at Pat's in the Flats. The Punk Rock Picnic will get going at 5pm and feature great bands and great food. Right now other than us we have The Rub-Offs confirmed. We'll keep you posted as this comes together. That's about it for now. Stay Sick! Bob
02-05-08 Well the first reviews are in, and so far the critics seem to like 'The Golden Age of Sin'. You can read for yourself over on the "dissections" page. After you read what everyone has to say about our latest masterpiece, you'll no doubt want to head over to the merchandise page and order your very own copy through Paypal. Or if you're in the NE Ohio area head on over to My Mind's Eye Records on Madison Avenue in Lakewood or Square Records on West Market Street in Akron to pick up a copy. Or just buy a copy direct from us at one of our upcoming shows. We'll be at Annabell's in Akron on Saturday February 23rd
01-19-08 Bob Noxious here, wishing you all a great 2008. Lots going on in the Horror of 59 camp. First, we would like you all to welcome the newest member of Horror of 59. Thankfully we haven't lost anybody else, we've just decided to expand to a five piece. Joining us on second guitar is Mr. Tommy Roulette. If you've been to recent shows, you know I was playing second guitar on some songs, but we all just felt it was taking away from the energy of the shows having me just stand there in front of a mic stand. Aside from that, Tommy Roulette is a hell of a lot better than I am. So know we have two Tommys on guitar. Yeah, that won't get confusing. In other band member news, our bass player Jimbo has finally decided on a stage name for himself. He will henceforth be known as Jimmy Dale Killmore. Be sure to see the first show ever with our latest and greatest line-up on Saturday February 23rd at Annabell's in Akron, OH. Also on the bill will be Dropgun and The Professional Againsters. It's a 21 and over only show, and admission is free. So you say you want a copy of the new Horror of 59 album 'The Golden Age of Sin'? You say you don't live close enough to make it out to a show, and your local record store sucks and doesn't carry us? Fear not, because you can now order direct from us via Paypal for a mere $10 plus postage and handling. Just click on the album cover to get things rolling. Want something scary to look at? Check out the promo videos for "Die My Way" and "Post Mortem Riot" that our old buddy and founding member of the band Deke put together. They're on the Sickening Sounds page. Finally, Horror of 59 is nominated in the "Best Rockabilly/Garage Rock" category in the Cleveland Free Times Music Awards poll. Click here to help us spread the horror. The competition is stiff, but with your help we just might do it.
12-13-07 It's been just over 2 years since our debut album 'Screams From the Cellar' was released on Sonic Swirl Records. Now Horror of ‘59 is back with a brand new collection of cuts from the crypt, 'The Golden Age of Sin'. It’s an album that expands our sound while remaining true to our bloody beginnings. The album is co-released through Cleveland-based Shark Attack! Records and My Mind's Eye Records and features eye catching cover art by renowned artist Mitch O’Connell. 'The Golden Age of Sin' begins now! For 'The Golden Age of Sin' the band line-up is Bob “Noxious” Ignizio on vocals, Tommy Horror on guitar, Deke on bass, and Brent Bastard on drums. Since the recording of the album Deke has left the band, but not before he picked his own replacement in the person of Jimbo Hissem (formerly of the Slack Jawed Yokels).
Currently the album is available at My Mind's Eye Records in Lakewood and at our shows. You can also ask your favorite record store to order you a copy if they don't already have one in stock. Right now we have distribution through Revolver and Get Hip, and are working on getting more distributors. You can also order a copy directly from us by sending a check, money order, or well concealed cash in the amount of $10 (for Canada and the U.S.) or $15 (anywhere else in the world) to: Horror of 59 We also have swanky red shirts featuring the album artwork available in Large and Extra Large sizes for $12. Checks and money orders should be made payable to Horror of 59. We will have Paypal, CD Baby, digital downloads and other options available soon.
